Lawrence Talbots (Benicio Del Toros) childhood ended the night his mother died. His father sent him from the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor to an insane asylum, then he went to America. When his brother Bens (Simon Merrells) fiancée Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns to his fathers estate to learn that his brothers mauled body has been found. Reunited with his estranged father Sir John Talbot (Sir Anthony Hopkins), Lawrence sets out to find his brothers killer, and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Someone or something with brute strength and insatiable blood lust has been killing the villagers, and a suspicious Scotland Yard Inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) comes to investigate.

In this remake of The Wolf Man (1941), Lawrence Talbot (Benicio Del Toro) is lured back to his family estate to investigate the savage murder of his brother Ben (Simon Merrells) by a bloodthirsty creature of legend. There, Talbot must confront his childhood demons that came from his mothers death when he was a child. While Lawrence is searching, he is attacked and marked by the beast. There is a price to pay. Lawrence is now cursed: on every full moon he becomes a werewolf. Lawrence is now in hiding and his faith is in the hang of kill or be killed. His brothers grieving fiancée Gwen (Emily Blunt) seeks to find a way to save Lawrence.
