Story: Hired to investigate forged bonds, Charlie is thwarted by the murder of his undercover agent, but the arrival of son Lee helps him uncover the true culprits.

Charlies visit to Paris, ostensibly a vacation, is really a mission to investigate a bond-forgery racket. But his agent, apache dancer Nardi is killed before she can tell him much. The case, complicated by a false murder accusation for bankers daughter Yvette, climaxes with a strange journey through the Paris sewers.

Charlie is hired by English investors to investigate the forgery of French bonds emanating from a Parisian bank. Charlies undercover agent, an Apache dancer, is murdered before she can disclose what shes learned. Despite this setback, Charlie welcomes the arrival of #1 son Lee, who proves a valuable ally to his father. The prime suspect is the ubiquitous Xavier, a crippled beggar and World War I veteran who seems to hold a grudge against the officials of the bank in question. When Yvette Lamartine, the daughter of the banks president, is accused of murdering her ex-lover, a corrupt bank official, Charlie must temper his quest for the truth with chivalry.
