Story: A disturbed, delusional high-school student with aspirations of a career in medicine goes to extremes to earn the approval of her controlling mother.

18-year-old Pauline lives with her family, including younger sister Grace who has Cystic Fibrosis. Pauline has delusions of being a great surgeon, and she also has some horrific dreams that she actually finds "stimulating," to say the least. Her family puts up with her delusions, and her school classmates find her annoying. As this is all happening around her, she has a plan that will leave them all shocked--and some of them may not survive.

A shabby appearance and an equally-bad complexion are only a few issues that antisocial, delusional high-school tomboy Pauline must endure. Struggling for attention and acceptance, the otherwise-ordinary schoolgirl is suffering from the typical problems of her age, including the constant mother/daughter conflicts, the search for the perfect boyfriend, and the loss of her virginity. As if all that werent enough, troubled Paulines feverishly-grotesque fantasies and her hemophilia fetish have made her the schools pariah. Under those circumstances, who would blame Pauline for longing to be her little sisters hero? After all, it wont be that hard; all it takes is a dash of determination and a steady hand. Can Pauline rid herself of the sickness?
