Story: Three men of varying social standing - a viceroy, a bullfighter, and a soldier - vie for the affections of an actress in 18th-century Peru.

In Peru in the eighteenth century. Camilla, the star of a theater company, hesitates between three men. The Viceroy gives her his magnificent golden coach. A young Spanish officer suggests the two of them settle down together among Indians. Ramon, a torero, offers her a share of his glory.

A troupe of actors arrive in 18th century Peru on the same day as the Viceroys golden coach. The actors are led by the vivacious Camilla who attracts the attention of several important men including the Viceroy, a handsome young officer and the most famous torero in the region. The Viceroy is so enamored with her that he gives her the golden coach - much to the annoyance of the aristocracy which forces him to take it back. Camilla enjoys many adventures along the way and gets what she wants in the end.
