Story: Giant mutant rabbits terrorize the south-west.

Cole Hillmans Arizona ranch is plagued with mongrel rabbits, and he wants to employ an ecologically sound control method. As a favor to college benefactor Hillman, college president Elgin Clark calls in zoologist Roy Bennett to help. Bennett immediately begins injecting rabbits with hormones and genetically mutated blood in an effort to develop a method of disrupting rabbit reproduction. One of the test subjects escapes, resulting in a race of bloodthirsty, wolf-sized, man-, horse-, and cow-eating bunnies. Eventually the National Guard is called in for a final showdown with the terrorizing rabbits.

In Arizona, the rancher Cole Hillman has his lands invaded by rabbits and he asks to the college president Elgin Clark an ecologic alternative to poison to get rid of the rabbits. Elgin contacts the researcher Roy Bennett and he goes with his wife Gerry and their daughter Amanda to the ranch. Roy collects samples and uses hormones in the rabbits expecting to sterilize the rabbits. However her daughter takes one of the injected rabbits with her but Amanda accidentally lets the animal escape. Soon the animal reproduces in an abandoned mine becoming a new breed of huge carnivorous rabbits.
