Survivors of a feral flesh-eating clan are chowing their way through the locals. Amy Halbard and Claire Carey strive to survive their abduction by the cannibals and save their children. A subplot involving Claires despicable husband Steven gives an opportunity to cleverly compare predatory civilized folk to the appetite-driven primitives.

Nearly two centuries after the mysterious disappearance of Daniel Cooks family somewhere in the lush forests of the Northeast Coast, the Halbards and their baby girl live a peaceful life, unaware that Cooks descendants and their clan of cannibalistic inbred savages have set their sights on them. Now, as the local authorities with the aid of seasoned former police officer George Chandler comb the impenetrable woods to find the cannibals cave, Cooks offspring--who crave the innocent Halbard baby for her alleged powers--hunt them down, until nobody else is in their way. Do the Halbards have what it takes to survive?
