Story: Fantasy comedy about a young window dresser who kisses a statue of Venus, which then comes to life in the form of Ava Gardner. However, the problems begin when Venus falls in love with him.

In the art department of a large department store, the statue of the famed Anatolian Venus comes to life and falls in love with Eddie Hatch, a window dresser. Just before the unveiling of the prized statue, Eddie takes "Venus" to the model-display house in the store, where the stores owner finds her. He also falls in love with her and makes her Glamour Girl Number One. Eddie and Venus dance in Central Park, but Eddie is arrested for stealing the statue. Venus goes back to her pedestal and Eddie is released. While Eddie is sadly preparing for another unveiling, a new employee asks him a question. She tells him her name is Venus Jones.

Eddie Hatch is a window dresser for Savorys department store. The owner, Whitfield Savory II, has just spent $200,000 on a statue of Venus for display in the stores museum. While arranging the display, Eddie flippantly gives the statue a kiss only to have it come to life. Venus, the goddess of love, immediately tells him that they are to be together forever but the awkward and shy Eddie, who already has a girlfriend of sorts, doesnt want anything to do with it - not at first, anyways. However, romance is in the air as Eddies girlfriend falls in love with his best friend and Savory finally realizes that his ever present assistant Molly Stewart, who has been in love with him for years, would be quite a catch. However, as Eddie and Venus spend more time together, he also falls in love with her but after he is arrested for stealing the statue, Venus realizes that she must return to her pedestal. Dejected, Eddie realizes he has lost his true love - that is until he meets a new store employee.
