Episode Info: Arthur Writes a Story: Mr. Ratburn gives his class an assignment: to write a story either fiction or non-fiction. Arthur decides to write the story of how he got his dog Pal. When he tells his story to D.W., she says that it is boring, and she suggests to make Pal an elephant. Then whenever Arthur tells his changed story to a friend, they keep telling him how it can be improved, and eventually becomes a really bizarre story/Arthurs Lost Dog: The Read family are out celebrating Downtown Day in Elwood City, and suddenly Kate cries, but Mom, Dad, Arthur and D.W. ...

Story: Based on the books by Marc Brown, these are the adventures of Arthur, an 8-year-old aardvark, and his family and friends as they grow up and learn how to be good neighbors to one another.

Bespectacled aardvark Arthur Read demonstrates to kids how to deal with such childhood traumas and challenges as homework, teachers and bullies. He also has to contend with his sisters, but loves playing with his friends: tomboy Francine, foodie and best pal Buster, super smart Brain, rich girl Muffy and geography expert Sue Ellen.

The adventures of 8-year-old Aardvark Arthur Read. When hes not at home being hounded by his obnoxious, but scene-stealing little sister D.W. and his working class parents, hes finding educational misadventure at school with his pals: would-be bully Binky, pompous Francine, spoiled rich girl Muffy, genius Brain, and his best friend Buster. Arthur and the gang get into some pretty wild trouble sometimes, like the time Arthur and Brain are taunted by a dark-humored crossing guard, when Arthur, Brain and Binky find a key and fight about it, when Arthur and D.W. have to run the house when Mom and Dad fall ill, and many more. Based on the childrens books by Marc Brown.
