Episode Info: The Japanese are bombing LaCava and they damage the runway. Boyington then asks Lard if he can get some SesBees to repair the runway. Lard tells him if he can find one, hell authorize it. He does. When he goes to see the man in charge, he says he has too much to do. But when Boyington tells him that a USO show will be visiting the island, he agrees. It seems that while he was at Lards office, he heard of a USO show coming so he has Casey find out if they can come to the island. But when he calls he is told they are not coming. So Boyington has to get some of people ...

Story: The dramatized World War II adventures of U.S. Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington and his U.S. Marine Attack Squadron 214, (The Black Sheep Squadron).

Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington is the squadron leader of a group of fighter pilots stationed on an island in the Pacific during World War II. "Pappy" often needs to intercede in altercations at the base, but everyone seems to pull together when they are assigned missions in the air.

When the US enters WW2, Greg "Pappy" Boyington is flying with the American Volunteer Group, "The Flying Tigers", in China. Once the US gains a foothold on the Japanese empire in the Solomon Islands he heads there and rejoins the Marine Corps. By hook and by crook he gains the rank of Major and forms his own fighter squadron. He recruits his pilots from those being court martialled for a variety of offences. The ragtag squadron he forms will turn out be one of the most successful in the Pacific Theatre: VMF-214 - The Black Sheep Squadron.
