Episode Info: Valerie Dupree is found floating in the pool at Jeremy Cuttings cosmetic clinic. Dr Anna Jones claims she was suicidal after her divorce but Poole suspects she was poisoned by the cup of tea she left half drunk. Fellow patient Jayne Smythe believes Valerie was having an affair with the younger Paul Vincent but Dr Jones admits she was sleeping with him,giving him an alibi. It turns out that Valerie had made an urgent call to a lawyer in France and Poole suspects she was about to sue the clinic for botched surgery caused by Tippings failing eye sight. Story: A Detective Inspector is transferred from London to the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie to investigate and solve complex homicides.

Scotland Yard DI Richard Poole is sent to the Caribbean island of Sainte Marie to solve a fellow policemans murder. Having done so, he is seconded to the local police force as the dead mans replacement. Poole proves to be a brilliant detective, solving several complex murders. Hes not quite suited to, and doesnt like, the pace of island life or the heat and the sand; he also doesnt like seafood. That aside, the place is just great. In later series, other English and Irish police officers head the investigative team, namely Humphrey Goodman, Jack Mooney, and Neville Parker.
