Episode Info: SG-1 is providing security for three scientists who are conducting research on a far-off planet. Goauld warlord Khonsu arranges to capture the SG-1 team and ONeill tells Jay Felder, nominally the groups leader, to use the gate and head back to SGC. Felder is quite enamored with SG-1, admiring their exploits and daring-do. Rather than follow ONeills orders, Felder and another scientist, Simon Coombs, transport themselves up to the Goauld ship. What the scientists dont know is that SG-1s capture is a ruse to allow Khonsu, who is actually a Tokra, to pass on ...

Story: A secret military team, SG-1, is formed to explore other planets through the recently discovered Stargates.

General Hammond summons Colonel Jack ONeill out of retirement to embark on a secret rescue mission. ONeill confesses that he disobeyed orders to destroy the Stargate on Planet Abydos, and that scientist Daniel Jackson may still be alive. Arriving on Abydos with his team, ONeill meets up once again with the scientist, who has discovered a giant elaborate cartouche in hieroglyphics. All signs point to the fact that this is a map of many Stargates that exist throughout the galaxy - a development that makes the dream of the SG-1 team to travel throughout the universe in time a reality.
