Episode Info: Wealthy restaurateur Peter Bradshaw is shot by a sniper whilst launching his latest eaterie and his wife tells Jane that he was in receipt of death threats. Arrogant Scotland Yard inspector Ben Marshall takes over the case, to the annoyance of Davey, and surmises that the victim was killed by an international terror organization. Jane and Davey however use their local knowledge to identify the sniper but must then establish who paid them to kill Peter.

Story: A solicitor returns to the seaside town she left as a teenager to take up the post of coroner, becoming an advocate for the dead as she investigates sudden, violent or unexplained deaths.

Following the failure of a relationship high-flying solicitor Jane Kennedy returns to the small Devon coastal town of Lighthaven, that she left when she was a teenager. She takes up the position of coroner investigating sudden, violent and suspicious deaths. Jane moves back, with her teenage daughter Beth to live with her mother. In her new role Jane must work alongside Davey Higgins, the boy who once broke her heart, who is now the local Detective Sergeant.
