Episode Info: Kates mom takes Kate and the gang out to dinner for Kates birthday. Kate avoids telling her mother shes dating anyone because her mom always disapproves of her boyfriends. Jay thinks Mrs. OBrien is in a mental hospital but when Lewis lets the truth slip, Kate has to make up for it by inviting Jay to dinner at her moms house. Just as Kate suspected, her mom worries Jay is on the rebound and tries to convince Kate that Drew is the right man for her.

Story: A sitcom about Drews personal and professional life.

Drew is an assistant director of personnel in a Cleveland department store and he has been stuck there for ten years. Other than fighting with co-worker Mimi, his hobbies include drinking beer and not being able to get dates. To make a few extra bucks he has a micro-brewery going in his garage with his buddies.
