Episode Info: The plot of this very brief pilot would be used and expanded upon in one of the early Flintstones episodes, "The Swimming Pool." Fred Flagstone floats in his pool on a tube and his wife Wilma brings his lunch. Barney startles her with his weird scuba-diving gear, which includes a bow and arrow. Barney accidentally shoots Freds tube with his arrow, Fred sinks into the pool, and Barney rescues Freds lunch.

Story: The misadventures of two modern-day Stone Age families, the Flintstones and the Rubbles.

This popular animated television cartoon featured two Stone Age families, the Flintstones and their neighbors, the Rubbles. Much of the humor was based on its comic portrayals of modern conveniences, reinterpreted using Stone Age technology. Most notably were their cars, complete with absence of floorboards to allow them to be foot-powered.

The Flintstones were the modern Stone Age family. Residing in Bedrock, Fred Flintstone worked an unsatisfying quarry job, but returned home to lovely wife Wilma and eventually daughter Pebbles. Fred, a big fan of golf and bowling, also enjoyed bullying neighbor Barney Rubble, while Barneys saucy wife Betty was best friends with Wilma. During the shows run, Barney and Betty would adopt an unnaturally strong son, Bamm-Bamm, who would become friends with little Pebbles. "The Flintstones," heavily inspired by "," convinced a generation of children that dinosaurs and humans occupied the planet at the same time.
