Episode Info: After their ex-roommate Dorothy moves away to Atlanta with her new husband, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia sell their house and decide to purchase a dilapidated hotel near the beach.

Story: After Dorothy remarries and moves away, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia open a hotel called The Golden Palace.

A spinoff of the Golden Girls. After Dorothy gets married and leaves the group, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia buy a hotel. But what do they know about running a hotel? For that particular reason, they fall back on the experience of the trusted manager and the funny cook.

The Golden Palace begins where The Golden Girls ended, in the quartets now-sold Miami house. With Dorothy Zbornak having remarried and left in the series finale, the three remaining roommates (Sophia Petrillo, Rose Nylund, and Blanche Devereaux) decide to invest in a Miami hotel that is up for sale. The hotel, however, has been stripped of all of its personnel in an effort to appear more profitable, leaving only two employees: Roland Wilson, the hotels manager, and Chuy Castillos, the hotels chef. This requires the women to perform all the tasks of hotel staff.
