Episode Info: Staff and pupils don 40s gear for the World War Two living history week, with austerity rations which annoys the kids. For authenticity the teachers organize a foraging expedition, where Kevin, helped by a military uniform and a Glenn Miller disc, wins back Dynasty. However the stupid Barry Barry and even dimmer side-kick Darren pick and eat magic mushrooms, requiring their hospital admission. Education officer - and Sues father - Robert Bain arrives for his school inspection, which begins well. However Rhiannon faints after taking the austerity diet too seriously ...

Story: A contemporary drama series set in a challenging comprehensive school.

Theres a school like Waterloo Road in every town in Britain. The staff are overworked and underpaid, the budgets only ever seem to get tighter, and the kids more troublesome. Its a melting pot of class and race where the day-to-day troubles of its students spill out in dramatic ways. However, every pupil knows that at Waterloo Road theyll always be cared for by the staff and given every chance to achieve an education. The teachers themselves are often far from perfect, but as any pupil with a problem soon discovers, a few motivated and inspiring individuals can make a massive difference.
