Episode Info: Fitzwirth gets Sarah (having chanced her last name to Merrin, her birth mothers name) a job as a personal assistant to a wealthy Upper East Side matron with a menagerie. When the womans snobbish son, Spencer, invites Sarah to a formal banquet just to show off to his peers, Sarah quits. Meanwhile, Maguire expresses feelings for Sarah, unaware about Bailey Salinger, her boyfriend back in San Francisco. Also, Romy and J.B. have their first date which turns bad since Romy has a thing for the theater, and J.B. has a thing for gambling.

Story: In a spin off from "Party of Five," Sarah leaves the Salingers behind to search for her birth-father in New York.

In this spinoff from the series "Party of Five," Sarah Reeves leaves San Francisco to get away from her pampered life and start a new one for herself in New York City where her late biological mother lived as well as to find her biological father that she has never met. Changing her last name to Merrin (her birth mothers last name) Sarah settles in the same apartment where her mother lived which she shares with Romy Sullivan, a struggling actress and younger version of Sarahs mother, while she makes new friends who include struggling musician John Maguire, bar waitress Joss House, their freakish landlord Cecilia, and a friendly neighbor named J.B.
