Episode Info: On the eve of Sarah and Laurence Mitchells daughter Felicitys wedding the church is broken into and a register stolen by the driver of a white Mercedes. He is in fact the man whom Sarah, years earlier as a Czech refugee, married to obtain a British passport and from whom she was never divorced. When he sets out to blackmail her she tells Laurence, who takes the law into his own hands.

Story: Recovering alcoholic and divorced father of a young daughter, DS Jim Bergerac is a true maverick who prefers doing things his own way, and consequently doesnt always carry out his investigations the way his boss would like.

Bergerac is set on the island of Jersey and was produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation in association with the Seven Network of Australia. First screened on BBC1, it stars John Nettles in the title role as Detective Sergeant Jim Bergerac, a recovering alcoholic and divorced father of a young daughter.
